There is a hope that doesn't wait for the night to disappear before it begins to sing. It sings in the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201eAbout midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.\u201c \u2013 Acts 16:25<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Paul and Silas didn't sing because everything was going well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They had been beaten, thrown into prison, and their feet were in chains. And yet, at midnight, they began to pray and praise God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her circumstances hadn't changed. But her perspective had changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perhaps your own "night" looks completely different. Perhaps it's a time of waiting. A prayer that hasn't yet been answered. A door that hasn't opened. A disappointment you hadn't anticipated. A struggle that lasts longer than expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And perhaps you think: \u201eIf my situation changes, then I will praise God again \u2013 I will believe in God again.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But biblical hope says: \u201e"I can praise God here and now, too."\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not because the pain isn't real. Not because we have to pretend everything is alright. But because God remains God even in the night.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Worship at night is an expression of trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you sing while you are still waiting, you are declaring: \u201e"I don't see the answer yet, but I continue to trust the one who holds it in His hand."\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
And sometimes your song becomes the answer to another person's silence: \u2026 The others listened to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your faithfulness in a difficult time can encourage someone silently walking through their own night. Your praise can remind someone that God is still worthy. Your hope can become the song someone else needed to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What would it look like to praise God even before your situation changes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to feel strong. You can simply whisper: \u201e"Jesus, I still trust you."\u201c<\/strong>. And sometimes that's exactly the beginning of a song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
