Christian hope is not simply wishing that everything will eventually get better. Rather, it is a firm confidence founded on who God is and what He has promised.
„For we have been saved in hope. Now hope that is seen is not hope at all. For how can one hope for what one sees?“ – Romans 8:24
When our hope is founded on Christ, it changes how we live today.
Because I know that God is faithful, I don't need to be ruled by fear. Because I know that He is at work, I don't need to understand everything. Because I know that my future is secure in Him, I can be faithful today.
Hope gives me the strength to continue, even if the answer hasn't come yet. Hope gives me patience when the process takes longer than expected. Hope gives me the joy that circumstances cannot completely take away.
Sometimes we are so focused on the question: „"When will God change my situation?"“
God might want us to ask ourselves a different question: „"How does my hope in God change my current lifestyle or the way I live today?"“
Perhaps your situation hasn't changed yet – but you can change.
You can pray instead of worrying.
You can trust instead of trying to control everything.
You can worship instead of complaining.
You can love instead of withdrawing
You can take the next step instead of letting uncertainty paralyze you.
Ultimately, our hope does not lie in our circumstances improving. Our hope lies in a faithful God.
And if your hope is anchored in Him, you can approach today differently – even if you don't yet know what tomorrow will bring.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus I pray, help me to live today from the hope that I have in you. If I cannot see the way, remind me that you can see it. If I am afraid, teach me to trust You. When I am discouraged, remind me of Your promises. Let the hope I have in Jesus change the way I think, speak, decide, love, and live. I don't just want to hope for a better tomorrow. I want to remain faithful today because I know that You already hold my tomorrow in Your hand. In Jesus' name, amen!
