Into Your Light

    A hope that cannot be hidden

    There is a hope so deeply rooted within us that it cannot remain distorted. When we truly understand what Jesus Christ did for us, it not only changes our inner selves—it will eventually become visible outwardly as well.

    „But always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.“ – 1 Peter 3:15

    Peter doesn't say, "Hide your hope." He says, "Be ready to talk about it.".

    Why? – Because people will notice something.

    They might see that you have found peace, even though your situation is difficult. They see that you keep going, even though you've been disappointed. They see that you don't give up, even though you see no way out. And perhaps one day they'll ask: "Why do you still have hope?"„

    Then you'll have something to tell.

    Our hope is not the result of our lives going perfectly. Our hope comes from Jesus' faithfulness.

    A hope that exists only in our words quickly becomes invisible. But a hope that changes our lives becomes visible.

    It is revealed in how we treat people. How we deal with difficulties. How we react to disappointments. How we look to the future. And sometimes our life is the first Bible passage someone else ever reads.

    Food for thought…

    Can people recognize from your life that you have hope in Jesus Christ?

    Perhaps there is someone in your circle today who has lost all hope. Perhaps this person doesn't need a grand sermon first. Perhaps they simply need someone whose life says: "There is hope. Because Jesus is here."„

    Father in Heaven, in the name of Jesus I thank you that my hope does not depend on my circumstances, but on you. Do not let the hope you have placed in my heart remain hidden. Let my fellow human beings recognize some of Your hope in me, and give me the courage to tell them about You when You give me an opportunity. And let my life point to You – not to my own strength, but to Your faithfulness. Make my hope visible in You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen!
