There is a hope that is not meant to remain locked inside us.
When the hope of Christ fills our hearts, it begins to overflow – in the way we live, speak, love, and encourage others.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. – Romans 15:13
„"To be overflowing with hope"“
God doesn't just want to give you enough hope to get you through today. He wants to fill you so deeply that what He has placed within you can flow right through you.
An overflowing hope means:
- Choosing peace when others react with fear
- Encouraging someone, even though you yourself are still waiting for your breakthrough.
- Trusting that God is good, even if you don't understand what He is doing.
- To bring light to places where people have long since become accustomed to darkness.
- and and and
You might be wondering: „"How can I give hope to someone else when I need hope myself?"“
The answer lies in the source.
You don't have to create hope yourself.
God is the God of hope.
If you trust Him, the Holy Spirit will work in you and fill you with joy and peace until hope begins to overflow.
A container doesn't have to exert itself to overflow.
It simply needs to be filled.
Perhaps he will invite you, to draw closer to Him and allow Him to fill you anew.
And when your heart is filled with Him, hope will find its way outward.
- Through your words
- Through your kindness
- Through your patience
- Through Your worship
- Through Your presence
What God pours into you can become a blessing for someone else.
Food for thought
What is flowing from your heart today?
- Fear or faith?
- Worry or peace.
- Discouragement or hope?
Bring what is inside you right now to God. Let Him fill you anew. For when God fills your heart with hope, This hope is not just for you.
Would you like to join in a prayer?
When you're ready…
Father, in the name of Jesus, God of hope, please fill me anew. Fill my heart with Your joy and peace as I learn to trust You more and more. Where I have become discouraged, restore my hope. Where I am filled with worry, grant me Your peace. Where I have grown tired, I will renew my strength. Let the hope you have placed within me overflow into the lives of the people around me. Let my words encourage you. Let my presence bring peace. Let my life lead people back to You. I don't just want to have enough hope for myself. Fill me until your hope overflows within me. Amen.
